The Village of Sainte Agnès
The surrounding countryside still has open terraced fields, so one can see and admire the village in its entirety. Sainte Agnès is in a unique position. It is perched on the mountain side 10 kilometres above the town of Menton, the last town on the French Riviera, just inside the border before Italy.
A lovely ‘forgotten’ corner of the coastline on the Mediterranean. The village is situated at 750 meters above sea level, so enjoys a cooler climate in the long hot summers. It is one, out of 142 villages, designated as ‘the most beautiful in France’ and acknowledges this accolade with a simple pride.See More
We were very late and I made requests to some places, but only Anita answered and said that we are welcome even at so late.
Cute small village with a nice view and a few restaurants. Anita’s place is very cozy & nice, would stay there again.
We very much enjoyed our brief stay in Sainte Agnes and the views and peace of looking down to the sea away from the busy beaches. History and outdoors await!
This was our second visit to the Stable Cottage in successive years... This year’s sojourn was even more enjoyable than our inaugural visit.
Overall we loved the Stable cottage and would highly recommend it to anyone who is travelling to this area of the south of France!
Just returned from a wonderful 3 night break at Stable Cottage and can highly recommend it for many reasons... Overall the cottage is a perfect escape!
